Anne
travelled extensively before coming to Clydebank in 1975 and previously
lived in London, Wales and France. She trained in France as a cook and is a
fluent speaker of the French language.
A baker by trade she was a catering manager in a Glasgow school for 29 years.
Anne joined the Dalmuir Tenants’ Association in 1985 as she became interested in the area in which she lived. Since then Anne’s interest has evolved into a full time pursuit. In recent years she has been actively involved in a wide range of committees that have a bearing on the social well-being of the community: Clydebank Civic Forum, Community Planning Partnership Building Brighter Futures, Social Inclusion, Youth Action, Lynx Care, SPARC, Social Enterprise Clydebank and, of course, DPHA.
In her spare time Anne is also a keen photographer and joined Clydebank Camera Club in 1987 where she remains an active member.
Anne is delighted at the way the Association has developed over the years. “Being part of the Association is very important to me. We have developed over the years and we are a strong organisation with a long serving, stable and dedicated Committee. We also have a huge commitment to our Wider Role Programme which we believe to be the way forward. As we grow in confidence we can have a more positive and longer lasting effect that can only strengthen our community.”
