Christine Bradley

DPHA Secretary & Chair of Housing, Maintenance and Development Committee. Beardmore Trust Board Member

Christine joined the Committee in 2004. She admits that when she first joined she was not fully aware of just how much the Association impacted on the community and the amount of administrative detail that is needed to organise and run a Housing Association.

“At first seeing the amount of paperwork that was needed to support meetings was daunting. But that is the way of modern management and the demands placed on Housing Associations to provide good quality information”.

Christine feels that by playing an active role she has the great advantage of having an overview of the impact of the Association on the whole community. She added that the community of Dalmuir deserves the best of what can be provided to make a real difference to the quality of life in the area and  she is involved to help bring this about.

Christine said, “I have seen a lot of worthwhile changes in the Dalmuir area in recent years and this must continue. Our Housing Association does not just deal with the provision of housing, and we have built onto our remit care of the vulnerable and elderly, special need provision, the care of our children and non-housing projects that are designed to make our community stronger. We operate as a charity. Every penny that comes in to the organisation is re-invested to make things better for us all. Making a contribution to all of this is our reward and motivation”.
