The Association is not as active in developing new house building projects as it did in it’s early years but still remains involved in seeking opportunities where it can. This section of the website will update residents on any progress and provide information on new developments as they occur.
It has been several years since we completed a full housing development and our activities over the last few years have been confined to environmental projects. Funding has been much reduced in recent years and targeted at areas other than Dalmuir.
We have recently however been active in procuring a feasibility study for the Council’s Regeneration area in Mountblow and we await confirmation that we will be invited to develop the study to completion. 104 properties are due to be demolished and initially replaced by 25 new build homes.
We are also actively considering a bid for some stock in Dalmuir and Mountblow, part of a package of properties that the Council wishes to transfer under its Partial Stock Transfer strategy.
We currently have one site, Beardmore Street/Auld Street in our portfolio which may accommodate 16 2 bedroom flats and are in negotiations for another two sites. Hopefully we will be successfully as well as attracting sufficient funding to increase the stock of available rented homes.
