Welcome to Lynx Care pages of our website. Here you can find out
information on the various elderly services we provide for the community
of Dalmuir.
History
The Association survey was carried in January 2001 to establish what kind of help would assist people to live in their own homes and analyse what support could be provided. The survey was conclusive and Lynx Care was set up to provide unmet need and offer extra support to ensure that local people were able to live in their own homes in the local community for as long as possible. The aim of the service is to enable independent living and this means more people will benefit from enhanced support at a time when they most need it and continue to live in their own homes.
Service Provision
Lynx Care currently offers practical domestic support to tenants living within their own homes within the community. We offer services such as support with household chores and daily living tasks, escorting to appointments or social events and practical support to access other community services.
The service aims to expand its scope of provision and branch into Personal Care which has been identified as a perceived community need. In 2009-10 we implemented a training programme for all our staff which will aid our registration with the Care Commission to provide Personal Care.
Lynx Care is currently funded via Supporting People Grant and provides 102 hours of service per week to West Dunbartonshire Council referred service users and also provides around 11 hours per week to private clients.
